The Campo Quarterly

July 2022

We are already more than halfway through 2022! We are grateful to announce that Campo's trend of growth and success has continued into this year.

So far in 2022, Campo has assisted clients in opening 3 stunning projects: The Threefoot Hotel, Meridian - A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Hotel Indigo New Orleans - French Quarter, and Home2 Suites + Tru by Hilton. The historic renovation of the Shell Building into the Home2 Suites + Tru by Hilton dual-branded hotel was awarded over $18.6 million in state and federal historic tax credits

There are also 4 projects actively under construction and 3 more hotels slated to open before the end of the year. In addition, our office has grown to employ 28 total staff. As Campo continues to grow, we appreciate the continued support of our clients and welcome the opportunities presented by new projects.

Project Updates
Now Open | Threefoot Hotel, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel
Meridian, MS

In January, the city of Meridian celebrated the grand opening of the Threefoot Hotel, Meridian, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel in the heart of downtown. The iconic Threefoot Building has been meticulously reinvented from the towering beacon of a Golden Age gone by to a present-day symbol of southern hospitality. Campo served as the Architect of Record for this historic renovation project in partnership with Ascent Hospitality
Now Open | Hotel Indigo New Orleans - French Quarter
New Orleans, LA

Located at 135 St. Charles Avenue, the former Royal St. Charles Hotel was converted into a vibrant Hotel Indigo. The renovation scope included all 10 exterior and interior levels of the building and a new guestroom count of 143 keys. Campo served as the Architect of Record and Interior Designer for this renovation project in partnership with Newstream Capital Partners and DonahueFavret Contractors, Inc.
Now Open | Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton |  St. Louis, MO

In May, the former historic Shell Building reopened as Home2 Suites + Tru by Hilton. Originally built in 1926, the Art Deco/Late Gothic Revival structure now stands as St. Louis' first dual-branded hotel property. Campo served as the Architect of Record, Interior Designer, and Historic Tax Credit consultant for this project in partnership with Blueprint Hospitality and Paric Construction
Under Construction | Riverview Towers | San Antonio, Texas

Steps away from the San Antonio Riverwalk, the Riverview Towers are being converted from  office space into a mixed-use development, including a dual-branded Element Hotel and AC Hotel by Marriott, tenant office space, and a rooftop bar. The AC lobby will have double-height ceilings and will be anchored by a grand bar (shown above). The bar is flanked by four existing columns with a dramatic custom lighting display above. This ethereal bar can be seen through soaring windows that wrap the prominent corner. Campo is providing Architecture and Interior Design services in partnership with Winston Hospitality.
In-Progress | Downtown Strategic Plan Phase 2 | Monroe, LA

Earlier this month, Mayor Friday Ellis and the City of Monroe extended their agreement with Campo to move into Phase 2 of the Strategic Plan for the revitalization of Downtown Monroe. This phase includes a Community Engagement effort aimed at listening to a broad range of stakeholders to define current issues, identify goals, and select priorities for inclusion in the Downtown Plan.
